MonmouthCares is a care management organization serving youth ages 0-21. There is a CMO in every county, and we are the Monmouth County version. Our mission is to keep kids at home, in school, and out of trouble. We do so by using the Wraparound approach to provide services and supports to youth who are experiencing crises and periods of instability. We utilize Wraparound principles to help empower families to achieve their vision and accomplish their goals while collaborating with various system partners and community organizations.

Position Information

Description of Position:
The student would get an introduction/overview of the NJ Children's System of Care and MonmouthCares as an organization. The student would get to shadow a supervisor and learn some of the behind-the-scenes of this leadership role as well as daily tasks involved with managing a team. In addition, the student would get to sit with seasoned care managers to learn more about their role and expertise in their work with families. There will be potential observation opportunities in the field as well as learning more about the approaches and tools we use to document. This site mentor can also share professional and personal experiences with the intern from the perspective of a former Rutgers and Douglass alum herself.
Pre-requisites or Requirements:
No specific year in school required; this externship would best fit a social work, psychology, or human services related.

**Our organization will be moving locations from West Long Branch to Neptune, NJ in the fall of 2025. The location address will be shared after the move. This position will likely be hybrid - a combination of remote and in-person.
