Externship Job Listing

During the externship at Wellness with Jason Dotson, the student will gain hands-on exposure to the operations and clinical environment of a community-based mental health agency. The student will observe and learn about client intake, assessment, treatment planning, case management, therapeutic services, documentation, and ethical practices within a behavioral health setting.

The student will have opportunities to participate in team meetings and case discussions as appropriate, and develop a better understanding of how clinicians work collaboratively with children, adolescents, adults, and families. The externship will also provide exposure to culturally responsive care, community-based services, professional communication, confidentiality, and the importance of building therapeutic relationships.

Throughout the experience, the student will be encouraged to ask questions, reflect on their observations, and connect academic knowledge with real-world behavioral health practice. The goal is to provide a meaningful learning experience that strengthens the student's understanding of mental health services, professional responsibilities, and potential career pathways in the behavioral health field.
