Organization Description:
ASEC is within the Weapons and Software Engineering Center (WSEC) as part of the Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center (DEVCOM AC) under Army Futures Command (AFC). I know, that's a lot of organization names!
In short, we work on software design, development, and maintenance for Army programs. From unmanned systems (drones, ground systems) to artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics to even video game development, our scientists and engineers have a wide array of skills that support a mission greater than our home in Picatinny, NJ: protecting our Soldiers now and in the future.

Position Information

Description of Position:
The student will be meeting with a variety of current scientists, engineers, and other professionals. Some will be career and professional development discussions. Some will be hands-on and interactive demonstrations of work being done by our organization today.
Based on what the student identifies as areas for development, we could also:
- Conduct mock interviews for practice
- Deep dive resume workshopping
- Discuss soft skills
- Discuss networking, specifically after college
- Learn a new technical skill (i.e. Python coding or data analytics)
- Talk about whatever is a concern of theirs for their growth!
Their externship would be a mix of meetings (virtual or in person) with professionals, discussions with just the site mentor and student(s), and technical practice.

No specific requirements.
Ideally, the student will have their working resume and plenty of questions!
