Organization Information

Organization / Company:
Princeton Battlefield State Park
Organization Description:
Princeton Battlefield State Park is one of the many State Parks and Historic Sites in New Jersey. On January 3rd, 1777, Continental Forces under the command of General George Washington fought British troops under the command of Lt. Col. Charles Mawhood across farm fields and into the streets of Princeton, winning the third and final battle in what has become known as the Ten Crucial Days Campaign. The Park encompasses roughly 1/3rd of the actual Battlefield and includes the historic Thomas Clarke House - the only surviving witness structure to the Battle within the park.

At the Park, Staff work from the Thomas Clarke House (now a small house museum) to interpret the stories of those who lived through the darkest hour of the American War for Independence. Daily tours of the house and battlefield are available. Special Programming occurs two to three times a month on weekends.
