The Rutgers Psychology Child Development Center (RUPCDC)is comprised of 2 twelve-month Rutgers University preschools, sponsored and operated by the Psychology Department. RUPCDC provides education and childcare for children ages 1-5 years of age.

Winter 2025 TWO WEEKS (January 6-17)

These students would participate in all aspects of caring for a young child. Externs will participate in the children's activities, meals, bathroom breaks, rests etc. This position also includes working with the Lead and Assistant teachers on daily attendance tracking and monitoring, implementing lesson plans and creating a positive physical and emotional classroom environment. Finally, externs will monitor and document the children's activities, meals, bathroom breaks and rests using the Tadpoles app through Teaching Strategies.

The college student that selects this role should be attentive to the children in the program. Selected externs must be able to maintain a calm demeanor and assist children with self-regulation and conflict resolution.
