Strategic Sourcing: We utilize a rigorous sourcing methodology that involves
a five-step process:
1. Profile the buy (analyze spend, identify stakeholder)
2. Profile the market (supplier)
3. Develop the sourcing strategy based on business
requirements
4. Execute the strategy (i.e., conduct negotiation/bid)
5. Execute contract, manage supplier performance

Summer - TWO WEEKS (June 5-16)

Shadow the sourcing team, which is comprised of sourcing managers in the categories of IT and Telecom, Research and Healthcare, Professional and Business Services, Facilities, and Athletics. This would include shadowing other team members to include category buyers, supplier relationship managers and sourcing specialists. Meetings will be both with internal procurement colleagues, multiple Rutgers University business stakeholders, and external suppliers who provide goods and services to Rutgers.
