Opening in 1921 as a silent film and vaudeville palace and now a nonprofit performing arts center, the recently renovated State Theatre New Jersey has been a cornerstone of the cultural vitality of Middlesex County. Our mission is to enrich the lives of people from diverse backgrounds, provide arts education programs to inform and build future audiences, and to encourage member of the community to have a life-long association with the performing arts. Program offerings include Broadway, orchestra, family, dance, comedy, rock/pop, jazz, Performances for Schools, and Sensory-Friendly Performances.

Winter 2025 ONE WEEK (January 13-17)

The student will learn the ins and outs of working for a large non-profit performing arts center and day to day of the different departments including community engagement/education, marketing, public relations, development, production, programming, and guest services. There is a sold out performance for schools on 1/17 of Step Afrika in which the student will get to see and help with preparation for that event including setting up a seating chart and assisting getting students, teachers, chaperones off busses and into the theater. We will also be working on some fun marketing/social media items for the musical The Addams Family.
